Next Trail Ride:

PWHAT Ride Bowie Nature Park Sunday May 22 at 1:30  –  Please read below:

Riders, although Sunday’s weather looks great, we are having heavy rain today.  Bowie sometimes closes their trails when they become extremely wet in order to protect them.  Before you haul to Bowie on Sunday, you need to call them that morning to see if the horse trails are open.  The number is 615 799-5544 Extension 1.  There will be a voice message to let you know the status of Bowie’s horse trails.  If the horse trails are closed at Bowie, we are going to meet at Garrison Creek on the Natchez Trace.  This is the primary place I go after a rain because it has great drainage.

Directions to Garrison Creek: From Nashville take I-65 south to Hwy. 96. Turn right (west) and follow 96 to Natchez Trace Parkway. Take the Parkway and turn south and go to the Garrison Creek staging area that has paved trailer parking, restrooms and picnic tables. This trail has creek and wooden bridge crossing as well as numerous changes in elevation. Bring a snack as we usually stop to eat at the half way point.
